So this summer has been the most fun fill packed summer since I got home from my mission. The first couple of months seemed like they were slow because all I was doing was working, but some of the projects that I was working on at work were time consuming and required a lot of tedious careful attention, but it is always good to have work, especially in the world and economy of today.
To continue the summer adventures I went home for a week when my sister Cheyenne graduated from high school. A nice 9 hours drive from Provo to Kennewick filled with sing-a-longs to Disney amongst many other types of music.
Summer adventures continued with a trip to New York (flying out) and then a cross country trip back (driving). But this was not just any trip mind you, I was heading to New York to be a cast member in the hill Cumorah pageant! Yes you heard me, a cast member in one of the biggest LDS church productions on the planet! I spent two and a half weeks on and around the Hill Cumorah learning the part of Battle Nephi (Yes I did get to play with a big sword and build a boat!) as well as getting to experience first hand a lot of the church historical sites and the amazing spirit that they still have with them today. My family decided to brave the cross country trip for Washington to New York to see me in the pageant and then I drove back cross country with them and they dropped me off back in Utah where the whole trip had started 4 and a half weeks earlier. But this was no cross country race against time to get back to work for four college kids and dad, no sir! We stopped at Niagara Falls, Nauvoo, and Mount Rushmore while racing across the country. For all of those place that we visited it had been more than 12 years since I had visited some of those locations, and others I had never been there before.
Once I returned to Provo the fun hasn't stopped! I have gone tubing on the Provo River twice, been to Layton/Bountiful twice to visit friends from the Pageant, helped move/bail out a friend whose apartment flooded, moved myself and many other things! I know that as the summer starts to wrap up that it will be one that is never to be forgotten as I have made friendships that will last forever.
Oh and FYI, my application for the Hill Cumorah Pageant next summer is about to be submitted! Look out world, here I come again!
